Tubes and subways can be very stressful. Here are some tips to help.  source: Wikipedia #1: Keep to the left, when using escalators. Unless you are walking up/ down the escalators then keep to the left, this makes for a painful trip up, or down. Standing on the left also makes you not stick out so much, because most locals tend to stick to the left, and, only a traveler knows that scammers and pickpockets know who to target. . . . Tourists. #2 just as important, don't lug luggage. Luggage is just hassle awaiting.  Tubes are crowded enough as it is, bringing an extra bag, especially a suitcase, is just asking for hard work. Because the tube station is a fast acting, speedy, area you have to be fast, and, luggage is not speedy. Second to last is to use one of my favorite apps, City Mapper.
